Nikumaroro (previously known as Gardner Island) is a small coral atoll in the central Pacific Ocean situated just south of the Equator and just west of the 180th meridian. It lies in the Phoenix Island Chain and is part of the Republic of Kiribati.

In a blog post a couple of months ago, I expressed doubt that the cruise business would ever take off in Hong Kong considering how long the three-legged government tortoises were taking to build a new terminal. Not so, said Wallem Shipping (HK) director Simon Doughty.

Not much gets past my Rottweiler Spam Filter. But no matter how many times I classify the sender as “SAFE”, messages from the NRA (National Rifle Association) somehow always have to be rescued. Conversely, once in a while my faithful spam filter…
